Grafix srat powder

I am getting a communication failure for the spray powderdevice. It has happened before and have powered off the press and turn back on and it has worked fine for a few weeks now it will not let me print with the spray powder on. Any solutions out there?

 

I was able to shut the press down several times and the fault has gone away and I am printing now but would still appreciate some advice on this if anyone knows what could be the cause

 

Reseat your EAK boards, then, because the information cable plug is located in harsh surroundings under the delivery, locate it and clean the pin connections, both male and female. You may be dealing with fouled/corroded contact areas of pin connection.

Don't have time to check each boards an connection but will on monday

 

As I can see it has CANBUS connection. Follow the purple cable from powder spray control box and check if the other end is connected to any CANBUS device. All CANBUS devices communicate to RGP module in main electric cabinet but depending on machine type, there are different configurations. For instance, CANBUS cable from Powder Spray can be connected to technotrans CombiStar/HydroStar unit or CoatingStar and then to main electric cabinet.
It could be the control box itself but it's rare.

Ok took a while to get back on here but wanted to wait until the fault for spray powder communication error came back to try what Mathew had said.
So fault came back today tried powering down press and turned it back on 3 times. The fault kept coming back each time press would come back on so I shut it down cleaned the connections with compressed air no sign of corrosion at the powder device and in control cabinet. Popped out eak board and re seated it and was able to start printing again.
Sorry took so long to post again and thank you for the help I will try to post again if I have any other issues with the powder unit.

 

Started printing today ran around 1000 sheets press shut off and communication error came back any other ideas?

 

As I mentioned earlier, follow the purple cable from powder spray all the way back to electric cabinet and let me know how it is connected.

 

Purple wires were the one I had cleaned and at the powder unit and pulled board and Reseated it.

 

Connection looked good no corrosion

 

Maybe EAK board is goin bad? So I had just cleaned all powder out of system to make sure no contamination powered down the press and powered back on went to counsel made sure dryer and spray powder was turned on selected menu where you can adjust the amount of powder sprayed and it was not on the screen to be able to adjust amount of powder.

 

Sounds like a bad communication going on somewhere

 

Did you try to clean sensors in red circle both on left and right side....and there is no need to turnoff machine every time you just unplug the main cable in blue circle for 30sec. and see what will happen.

 

Yes cleaned both of those sensors a lot of the time I get malfunction during operation fault with it and only way to get press to print is to reboot the press. Been dealing with the malfunction during operation fault since install of press the place that had press before us was getting that fault too.
Sometimes it will fault out while printing and sheets will be in press and I have to hard reboot the press to get sheets out and start printing again

 

Tried to just unplug that cable with press on and fault is still there

 

You are now following the instructions. How Powder Spray is connected? Is it a direct connection to electric cabinet or it is connected through another device like technotrans dampening system?
