    Dear all,
    Lately, my Polar emc 137 is damaging every knife we put in place after less than 2 hours of functioning. (see picture attached below)

    Hi sir;

    Please this make inspection first before to find the source of problem with the Knife;

    1) knife carrier and the clamp Should be checked

    2) attached is the there the Polar cutting in practice, that will Help you a LOT, and finding the problem

    3) However you must use some Square between the knife vs table in angle 90. and between Knife vs Knife Carrier.

    Thank you CHOCK for your prompt feedback,
    I have checked your points, what do you think of the parts 224910 & 224904 (adhesive shim and support)?
    they could be the origine of my issue?

    It would appear to me the evidence is in your photo, the scoring on the clamp shows the knife is hitting the clamp, is the clamp beam set correctly and replace knife deflection guides

    Check if there are shims, if not use shims to move clamp back slightly

    I would like to remind you of my advice to examine very carefully the knife carrier vs clamp.

    1) i did send you a complete from Polar , you must examine carefully.+screen shot from Polar attached again

    2) I do believe that safety bolt has been are breaking. if this had been pass the connecting Rod is wrong adjusted or bending in the crank shat!!

    3) Again please examine, this matter very carefully!!! otherwise you must replace expensive parts from Polar.

    Thank you very much Mr Chock for your concern, could you please send again a more clear attachment, because the one you already sent is not clear, in addition, what do you say by safety blots, where are they located?

    I would think it’s more likely it’s hitting the removable soft Plate under the clamp probably been hit by the backguage and pushed the pins holding the plate fwd.
    Remove damaged knife and soft plate
    Then with a sanding block just clean high points just on bottom edge of clamp beam or a flat file
    Check pins on clamp plate with a set square, if ok then run a file over the front lower edge of soft plate
    If everything is fine then check the rear face of the knife beam the area where the knife sits for high points or old waste paper stuck..
    I can explain if it’s not obvious How!!
    I’ve worked on machines with plastic support missing and they been fine don’t think I’ve ever had to add shims unless you don’t know the machines history then anything possible
    Regards
    Rob

    Hi Mr Chock,
    The issue was fixed by replacing the blade shim support (see picture attached)
