Hi, I was given a Ryobi 3302H 2 colour press and I am looking for books on offset printing. I am totally new to the world of offset printing, I do run a digital printshop using a Knoina printer.
    Thank you for your help

    4 year apprenticeship
    24 weeks at technical college
    Then you start learning.
Not a complicated press all the same.
I would suggest getting someone to physically show you for a day or two.

I completed my qualification with the Ultimo School of Graphic Arts which is where all the apprentice's in the state were required to attend.
There was a technical college in Sydney (the one I went to) and another one in Melbourne.
    Sadly both now closed.
I help run a Goss a couple of nights a week and the trainers now come to the work site. The apprentice there is three years in and has never even seen a sheet fed press. Truly a sad state of affairs.

As mentioned by Travis... hire an experienced AB Dick pressman to come in as a trainer. There is no substitute for watching someone up close and personal!!!

How are you going to make plates for it? Or were you also given a plate maker?

As others have said, reading about it in a book isn't ideal for such a hands-on activity. There's a certain amount of in-person experience needed to know how to adjust the amount of water and why, changing out a blankets, setting up guides for loading plates, making slight adjustments for aligning colors, adjusting for thicker and thinner paper, how to clean the press after you're done, etc. You will only get theory from a book. YouTube would be better than a book if you can't find someone for in-person training. So either hire an experienced pressman, or ask an experienced pressman to come teach you for a few weeks. I'm sure there are pressman at local shops who would be willing to work for a few hours in the evening for some extra cash. You'll also need to learn how to mix pantone colors.
