When printing books, 11x17 duplexed 20 lb. Bond paper, the delivery jogger is unable to stack the sheets neatly in the delivery tray. The sheets are scattered and strewn requiring mechanical jogging in the back of the shop. There seems to be a lot of static in paper. This has been a problem since day one, 3 years since installation, and the dealer still hasn't fixed this problem. Does anyone else have this issue?

We have a C6085, which uses the same finisher at the end and we don't have this issue...little to no static at all. The thin 2" section right after the engine is the anti-static roller which does go bad over time. It's possible this component has been bad on your press from day one and should be replaced. You should also ask your tech if there's a DIP switch or updated firmware that's needed to enable the anti-static roller. Do you have the relay unit on your configuration? Along with decurling and checking the color, that unit has multiple cooling fans which also really helps with the sheets stacking. I'd highly recommend it. One last thought, if you do have the relay unit, is that KM offers a humidifier that can be installed inside the relay unit.

The thin 2” section right after the engine does remove the static that was produced from the imaging process but as the paper continues traveling through the machine on its way to the output tray static is re-introduced from the friction. It is a big problem. One option is to set the print to output to the relay unit bypassing the long travel path that is re-creating the static. Konica Minolta Japan also sells an anti-static liquid that works but a box of three bottles costs $900 which is about a one year supply. Konica Minolta introduces its new toner which has an anti-static property to it with their next generation printers the AccurioPress C12000 & C14000. We had our C14000 set up last week and it appears they may have finally solved their static problem.

Thanks for your input. I print a lot of manuals and we are using the GBC punch, which is installed after the relay unit.
I am being "stonewalled" by the dealer and basically have no choice but to put up with this problem.
I wouldn't buy another Konica product. I previously had a Ricoh 651 and the service tech was the best man in Canada.
    I should've stayed with Ricoh.
