So I’m running a basic AB Dick 9810 with a Kompac unit. I have TCP Premium 33 fountain solution and tried it from 3oz per gal to 6oz per gallon mix with distilled water. No matter what ink I use I’m still getting an orange peel effect which makes it look washed out. I even tried adding some alcohol to break up the surface tension in the water. Any thoughts on how to smooth out the ink? It’s carrying plenty on the ctp black plates but has the effect even on the plate.

Even on the plate? If the pattern is in the plate image it's the plate. Have enough pressure on impression? On the Kompac you can adjust the nip settings on each side. Think 2 to 2.5 is normal nip setting... but too wide and excess water gets in. Be sure nice form stripe. 1/8" to 3/16" depending how good the form roller is.
