I have a Xerox 700 Color Printer and the network icon (Network/Scanning) is disable.

I have a Fiery server running Linux on Command Prompt.

Could this be an issue that the Fiery server has crashed or is it a Printer board Problem.

    Please Help

It’s the initiate scan from the machine’s touch panel? Or from Fiery command workstation?
Which option is no longer available?

It's the Network option from the machines' touch panel.

Sorry for more questions, is the entire scan menu disabled or only the network scan feature?

if the scan button in general is greyed out you may just simply have to re “enable scanning” from service mode. If network scan only is disabled have IT check to make sure the network mapping or path (or the destination location) Hasn’t somehow changed or been renamed.

in theory you should be able to network scan even without the fiery attached (assuming the machine itself is plugged into an Ethernet port)

I am grateful for the questions because it helps narrow down to the solution.

The network path and network connection is active and working fine. tried to activate from service mode, but cannot activate since the network mode is all disabled since the network option is off. their is no available network option in the service mode for activating or disabling network option.

Since the Fiery server has crashed, we were not able to connect via the network option.

    Regards

Since the Fiery is useless in its current state, have you tried bypassing the Fiery and linking the machine directly to an Ethernet port?

it’s probably currently configured with a line running from the machine to the Fiery and then from the fiery to Ethernet. Since the fiery is down the signal isn’t reaching to your network.

I have tried connecting the network cable direct to the Network port on the printer, still no change.

Unfortunately I’m not formidable in IT related issues. I do have one last idea.

since the Fiery is generally the root (or master) of all the machines related network features, and uses the fiery IP address to accommodate them, if you’re going to network the machine directly you may have to attribute the machine’s IP address as the origin point of all your network related functions.

when the machine was initially installed, the technician always takes the fiery IP and uses that to configure the machine and complete the install. If you take a dive into the machine settings, you should be able to find the machine’s IP, and reconfigure the device using this instead.

unfortunately, other than that, I’m out of ideas.

Do not say that you have no more ideas because your input has suggested and concluded that the really issue is with the Fiery server itself.

only that i have to do now is to rebuild it.

Appreciate the time and effort and looking forward to a brainstorming session in the future.

    Kind Regards.

It’s my humble pleasure. If you ever have a hardware or color issue, I really shine with such issues!
