I am facing the density difference on my magenta unit, densities are higher on the leading edge and low on tail, I cleaned the rollers off the press and reset, but no luck, changed the lateral ink distribution settings but it moves to different possitions on the sheet. Any Ideas on this?

    aqazi,
you need to adjust the dead point (circumferential distribution) of that units inker. Should be outlined in press manual. Its a hit and miss proposition so it may require a few attempts.

You will be wanting to make decent sized moves on the scale. I would say to go 45 degrees at a time, and run a few to see how much difference it makes. You will be real hard pressed to get solid density variations from front to back of anything under 5 densitometer points.. Its been my experience that if at all possible you will want to keep the ability to adjust this to your self. Once your customers, or sales force, learns of this adjustability you will begin to see longer makereadys.

Sorry, there was a blank post at 12:00 on Saturday right before turbotom replied that was deleted because it was just a quote of a prior post in the thread and otherwise blank. But that brought the thread back to the top and removed the old thread warning.

My post may be way late for the original poster to gain any benefit, but there's always the new guy with the same sort of question thats struggling with same issue. As fast as the industry is evolving, and going to digital printing, there are still plenty of Heidelberg sheetfed around 6 years later.
