I have removed cylinder jacket from gto46 , but the new jacket lip will not fit all the way into the stop limited , about 5mm out , I have loosened the 5 nuts but not enough gap to push the lip of the cylinder jacket into , any ideas

Are you equipped with the Heidelberg pressing bar?

Its a common problem. There could be accumulated dust along with rust inside where the lip goes in, or the bar that opens to push in is not fully opened. Its a pain in the arse to change jacket from time to time.

Get a block of wood about two or three inches long and just gently tap it in

Sorry. Place the block on the lip between the grippers and gently tap with a hammer.

The purpose of the wood is simply to avoid damaging the new jacket. You could cut down a bit of old cut stick from the guillotine or whatever. I wouldn't be in a hurry to go spraying WD40 everywhere, you'll have no end of trouble with marking. The majority will come off on the first few sheets and then every now and again a tiny little bit will seep out from behind one of the grippers. No fun if you're printing on a finished sheet size.

Cutting stick is a good thought, but it needs something hard and firm to pry open the closed bar -i used ink knife-, besides you can always blow with air the remaining wd40

Who said anything about spraying WD40 "everywhere".......the WD40 will release the seized part & then the jacket will be able to slide in without damage to the jacket. Generally most people will wipe any excess fluid away.

for me it is necessary to clean with wash well before putting WD40, if the cleaning is not done well it will always be the same given that the bar is seized a lot.thank
