Been having issues with my Reelstands (Festoons) bottoming out at anything over 28,000 imp. On Butler Reelstands I used to make the roll width bigger and it would apply the brakes more keeping my festoons from bottoming (or at least I think thats what was happening). Any ideas to solve my problem. My #1 roll doesn't cut the web after splicing on to roll #2 either just been ripping it off on the fly. Again any info would be great.
    Thanks JHM.

Sounds like a board problem. If your contiweb is anything like the ones on the M600s I work on then it'll need a board. Does it have the festoons above the rollstand with the splicing heads above reel 1? Tension on these aren't controlled like a butler, and when it goes into splicing mode they either go back or they don't. If your brakes are acting up and they aren't worn out then it is electrical and you have a bad control board somewhere in the rollstand. Also for it not cutting the web there's three possibilities, 1) Knife is dull or not set right on that splicer head
    2) Wire is loose 3) Air cylinder that fires the knife is worn out
