Hi friends, I had a Heidelberg SM 74 4 (2001) with CP2000. Recently, I had an issue with ink zone motors and had this malfunction appearance on CP2000 screen (photo attached). Have any of you had this same issue? Or is there any advice for me regarding this issue? I deeply appreciate any advice or suggestion from you. Thank you very much. Steven
Where do you put the plastic in the inkwell is not full of ink? If so, you need maintenance and adjustment at the inkwell and motors to overcome all that.
Thank you for your replies, fellas. We solved this issue by replacing one of the boards in the CP2000 module box (MWE HDM-00.781.2107) and cleaning all the cable ports with contact cleaner. For a while that issue has gone, but lately this thing happens again. Now, not only the ink motors but the plate registers are also affected (cannot move). Does anyone ever experience this? Do you have any idea how to solve this?
Have you tried to reseat the boards they sometimes get oxidation on them seat and reseat a few times may help
Thank you for your response, Jack. We actually do that a lot and we actually use a lof of contact cleaners to clean all the ports inside the CP2000 control center. We restart the press several times too. However, this issue keeps going on and off which really irritates us. Recently, the inking motors work fine but all the plate register motors are not responding (white numbers shown on screen). Until now, we have no definite solution and we have not been able to address the real cause of the problem.
Hi sir: Please follow this Steps"for troubleshooting: 1) Perform a visual inspection : look for loose and broken wires, improperly seated connectors, loose or broken wires misset switch, missing jumpers. and so on. Chech for obviously damaged component(components burned or discolore due to overheating); Dust + dirt + tear +wear 1a) Dry +colder solder joint (attached) 2) Reseating Boards and components: Edge connectors are a common souorce of problems. Power down the system and remove the PC boards. Examine the edge connector for contamination and clean with contacts cleaner contacts. Reseat any loose components such as scoketed ICs) . Reseat the boards and power up.(85% of failure in Electronic, is to due this problem) 3) Power supply checks: Check the power supply for missing voltages and voltages out of spec. A digital multimieter DMM can be necessary, as voltage specifications are quite tight: logic supplies for example: must be within + 5% percent of 5Vdc. All the multiple supplies and all must be checked. 4) Board swapping: Board swapping involves the substitution of a known good board for a suspect one. 5) Clock for CPU: Check the frecuency with frequency counter or a DMM included frecuency counter( like Fluke DMM) 6)Reset CPU: reset cpu see the attached schematic.
