    Hi there!

For running a small company, I am looking for a very precise laser printer (it does not necessarily have to be Canon).

We are looking to print also thicker paper which I dont want to bend, so the printer should be capable of printing without bending too the paper too much.

    Printer recommendations appreciated!

    Thanks a lot!

A little more detail would help...are you looking for a production level machine for high volume (how many prints per month) and when you say thick paper, how thick? What is paper weight/gsm? What size(s) sheets will you be printing on? When you say precise, do you mean as in consistent positioning on the page, or that it needs to capture small/fine details? Budget?

    Thanks for your answer!

It would be for a couple of thousands prints per month at max.

by thick paper I mean paper that is comparable to trading cards like Magic: The Gathering (305 gsm).

    The size is 63 x 88 mm.

By precise, I mean it should be consistent in positioning the page to make sure each print is aligned the same way as the previous print.

Of course, it also would be great if it had great image printing quality.

    Budget: ~500 USD

    Thank you for your help!

A printer that meets all of your requirements does not exist...especially for that low of a budget. To consistently do thousands of prints every month on that thick of paper requires a larger unit worth thousands of US dollars. Printers in the $500 range that say they can do 5,000-10,000 prints per month are referring to 20# bond paper (75 gsm). The other problem is the size. The smallest most printers can feed is 100x150mm...some units can do 75x125mm. Usually, a print shop will print multiple up on a larger sheet, and then cut down. If you’re trying to make playing cards, you can also buy a cheap corner rounder ($200-350USD). You’re better off sending your printing to a local print shop.

The thing is I have to manually print certain things on each card as they vary from card to card.

If there is wifi on donkeys, there also should be a printer capable of doing the playing card size in thicker paper. I wont give up looking! :)

Are you printing on cards that are already cut down and have printing on them? What are you printing?

Thanks for your reply! Yes, they are already cut and printed upon. I am looking to print QR codes onto them and have to make sure they are being printed precisely to not overlap with the existing print.
