Hi Everyone, I am having trouble on Unit#1 of my QMDI Plus. Something is causing the plate to get damaged on one side (DS) after about a 1000 - 2000 sheets into the run. I am assuming that this is a roller pressure issue or a plate to blanket pressure issue as these are the only two things that are in contact with the plate where it is getting damaged. The damage occurs in the same spot every time and is close to where the 2nd Ink Form Roller strikes the plate when the press is in the 360 degrees position. Please see attached pictures showing damage to the plate and the resulting printing problems on the sheets. Kindly contact me should you have ANY INPUT regarding this issue. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Shawn
I might not be of much help however I had run a qmdi press years ago. If I am not mistaken the problem came from the rollers. I use to shim the rollers one at a time till I found the culprit. It rings a bell with the #2 form roller but I am not positive. Also there was something I could do to change the timing of the roller. I remember pulling off the side cover above work table and jogging the press to see the new lock in position. That seemed to cure the problem. Please double check me before you make any adjustments. It has been several years since I run the press.
too much pressure when foam roller contact the plate, you can take that roller out, if problem solved then that is the reason
I have a similar issue with toning, that can be seen at blanket but not visible on paper. Culprits could be overpressure of squeeze plate/blanket, glazed rollers, roller end play, temperature of chiller also i manged to find a timing that got better -not eliminating it-
Hi Guys, After much trial and error, I have narrowed the problem down to roller pressure/s I have managed to eliminate the problem on unit #1 but now it has appeared on unit #2. We have just ordered a new set of rollers so that we can set up all the units properly with correct pressure on each roller. I am hoping that this will resolve our issue. Thanks for the input.
