Improper feeder set up, significant change of stock thickness, mechanical hindrance of smooth sheet travel, worn drive chain, worn forwarding wheels, bad motor/potentiometer...

I thought so. I just tried that stock and that showed up. Could that hurt the press? Is it safe to keep running that heavy stock?

Every time I run cover stock it’s a pain in the bud to run it. I have all kinds of problems feeding that paper.

How heavy are you talking? I don't recall the max stock thickness on that machine, .012" I think. If you're running max thickness, and given the age of the machine and the fact it's a perfector...your are looking at a potential calamity. That's not to say that if you use due diligence and exercise the utmost care, you'll be fine. The stock will be noisy, even on a straight printer, given the cylinder configuration.

the sheets size is 26X40 inches. The cover stock thickness is .011. But like I said, running any cover stock it’s a pain in the bud.

Shouldn't be. When going from light to heavy sheet, there are adjustments that must be done for optimum sheet arrival.

It's in your operator manual. You do have one? If you don't, and you have not had formal training, you are not utilizing your machine to it's fullest capabilities.

Don’t have one, didn’t have the right training. Basically the training last 2 hours. Pretty much where the water are, how to make a plate/ink move. Just basics.

When you run heavy stock you need to take some pressure off the drive wheels on feed board make sure you are not jamming sheet to head stops also side guide plate should be raised

There are numerous adjustments, in addition to what's been mentioned, that will help you when running cover weight stock. You really should consider some formal training for your press crew beyond the 2 hour demo you mentioned. I promise you that as long as your press crew has proven competence on other machines, and are teachable, the money will be well spent. I can also promise you that learning the finer points of any trade will not be happening, by coming to a forum and asking questions. There is no substitute for hands on training in order to get the most of your equipment. Either hire an experienced Heidelberg Pressman full time, or at the very least hire someone to come in for at least a couple of weeks to properly train your existing crew. The money will be well spent. I know of such a guy if your interested.
