Inkjet CTP image Won't adhere to plate

Greetings fellow printers,
I am shooting JT inkjet CTP via AccurRIP to my epson 7900. No matter how far down or up I dial the ink laydown, I do not get any adhesion to the plate. I have even baked them in a standard oven for 1 minute at 350. Once the etch hits the inkjet it washes it right off the plate.

I am running A B dick fountain solution on a Kompac. The press is an ABDick 9810.

I tried the A B dick plates and they seemed to work much better than these. I still had image issues, although to a much lesser extent.

I dont have any experience with this kind of ctp,but do suspect issue could be the ink. Jt seems to specify in their brochure,"..Ultra-Chrome® HDX ink." Combined with their RIP software..

 

It was the plate coating. It wouldn't accept the inkjet ink. Had to scrap JT Plates. only works with their inkset.

Don't Buy JT unless you have their inkset. I prefer the ABD plates, they hold up surprisingly well. Have to experiment with chemistry and such, but if you bake the plate it is as durable as most for short runs.

I am used to 100,000-2.5 millon runs on FUJI/Kodak plates via web heatset offset inline finishing (at my last job, up to 75"web inline or 57"web tandem inline config). Just having a low cost simple DTP solution is a game changer for the small shops, and it's super critical we keep these technologies accessible otherwise the press manufacturers own the market outright. God forbid we give XEROX or HP the keys to the Cadillac.

I was really interested with this inkjet ctp system after watching a video from presstek on youtube. I however lost hope after learning how slow the imaging process is. Also, the inkjet plates are very expensive. A box (of 100 Pieces) Gto 46 size plates would cost me around 200USD. The amsky i'm experienced working with takes only a total of 1min 23sec from loading to imaging to unload and The u.v/ctcp plates cost 35-40USD a box of 100pieces.

So,to image plates commercially at 100-300pieces a day, amsky is the way to go,but then the setup is very expensive at around 45,000USD

I am very interested in what you are doing with inkjet plates. I have accurip and currently use it to make possitive film with an old epson 2400. I would really like to try on plates though. Can you describe your setup a little more. Like exactly what plates you get and what kind of ink you use. I wonder if you could send me your accurip curves?
