HELP! Searching for bookbinding technology

Hi!
I'm stuck searching for a so-called "outbind" book binding technology, searching through google gives zero results. There is a possibility, that I have wrong information and the term is different... Have you heard anything about it?

Overall I'm looking for a perfect choice to bind an art photobook, looking toward great flat spread.
What could be the best option? Will be happy for any advice!

I'm a novice also on the hunt for the binding method that's right for me. I'm looking for a lay-flat method for books with larger number of pages than photo books. But in my travels, I've come across Fastbind's FotoMount and Booxster. They aren't right for me, but they seem interesting for photo books.
