Lets not assume it is 9600 - PB40S showed up not that long ago while OKI C9600 is quite old, there is ES3640, CX-3641, C900/920 family, while they all look quite similar, they're not really are.
What do you mean you "lost it", what leaded to that lost?
There is Engine Control board that controls Control Panel and all internal processes, there is Image Process Board (Formatter) that holds all communication ports USB and network, holds internal WebPage and system software that machine runs on, did Xante specify which one?
DO NOT TOUCH NVRAM on these machines, this is absolutely last reserve. Upon executing NVRAm reset, machine, most likely will forget it's identity i.e., it may stop thinking of itself as PB-DP40S and you will need a specific toner patch to restore it to its original state that I can not help you with. While it is not the end of the world, this will not render machine useless but you will get the message "Incompatible Toner" and would have to figure out what machine is thinking of itself now - most likely it will be some OKI model. this will lead you to need to replace all chips in all toners to match the OKI model that machine will think it is now, so lets not do this unless absolutely, absolutely a must.
I have sent you a PM, lets take it from there.

    thanks for the reply
Xante said if I am missing Network settings from Menu then I need a control board p#410-100346
I was able to get USB settings to work, not sure why it is working, but still no network settings.
NVram is missing and not in the menu so basically there is nothing to reset.
I will give you a call later. Thank you
I would not mind this unit functioning as an OKI at this point. Consumables are much cheaper.

Hi Roman - would you be able to help me - all of a sudden on my XP2020 I am getting this message "Close Cover Top Cover" I have tried removing all consumables. Cleaning out the printer, removing all paper, and powering up and still get this message. I have been told that my printer is now trash as it needs some assembly system replaced?? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks - Jeff

Hi. Sorry to hear about your printer issue. Before this issue showed up, were you trying to reset drum Life count via fuse or replace drums, more then one at the time? In my experience these are most common triggers of this situation.
Where are you located? This is perhaps one of most time consuming repairs with these printers.
If you're within driveable distance from NJ I could offer to perform the repair myself. Another issue can be that all these marketing brands such as Intec, PSI, Intoprint, Xante had these printers made out of different generations of OKI C9800 platform and the board that fails also can have a different P/N, meaning simply popping one out of C9800 may not necessarily work. Sure bet is getting one directly from Intec or attempt to repair the failed one you have - this may cause significant downtime.
Anyway - first question - where are you located?
    Let me know.

Hi Roman, I purchased this printer from a printing company. They said the printer was working just fine and the put the printer in storage as they purchased a greater model. When the seller turned it on last Monday, the error popped up. The seller reports no activity done to the printer since moving it to their storage location - which by the way is very dry and neatly kept. I am in Sutton, MA - just outside of Worcester. I would love to get this printer running again as I'm looking at another printer on eBay for $1,250.

    Ok, thanks.
I will type up a larger reply later today when get to regular PC with normal keyboard. In the meanwhile, ask seller for:
    1) pic of Configuration page or:
Total print count, color and b/w
What are the life counts of toners/drums/fuser/belt.
    2) if you go for it, would they be willing to palletize and crate for safe transport? Because they say" local pick up only.
Also keep in mind that shipping from Alabama will run you about $400.
You weren't planning to drive there to pick it up? :)
The rest I will add later

    Hi Roman,

They will have someone on their end get a pallet and shrinkwrap it for me. The cost using Yellow Freight is $311. I will ask for the config page. It's a one-owner printer - they used it in a stationary store - they upgraded to a greater capacity printer. Is there a finisher and a duplex unit available for this printer? Any ideas where I could look for them if they are available? Thank you so much for helping me! I didn't expect to hear from you as the post was so long ago :) Jeff

Duplex is most likely there, except "envelope printing systems" I have seen just a few without duplex. Even if it is not there I can get you duplex for $200, not a big deal.
Finisher for these printers is kind of lame and silly, that is why there are very few of them out there. They come up on Ebay occasionally and very unexpesive as whoever sells it, would probably be happy to offload it.

I was hoping to find a finisher that does all the folding, stapling, punch hole. If I get the duplex unit from you - would I have to get a different size stand as I have the envelope feeder and conveyor belt as part of my envelope printing system.

Jeff, before I forget, seller has pics of boxes of some supplies, ask if they are new and what in there.

I have asked the seller to let me know what comes with the printer and I am waiting for their answer. I'm so glad that I bumped into you - you are a wealth of information! Jeff

Duplex slides in, not affecting height, so no worries there. I think you'd be disappointed with functions of that finisher - no face trim, and very flimsy, unless very inexpencive I would not count on it much as likely you'd be next guy to be "happy to unload it"

Well, that's disappointing - as soon as I get one of these printers either up and running or purchased - I'll buy a duplex unit from you. I guess I'll have to look for a stand-alone finishing unit. No rush - just something I want to have at some point.

So what's wrong with this unit again? Will it not fold and staple paper as it outputs?

It can saddle stitch up to 10-15 sheets in to booklet and hole punch. I am not sure it can just fold. I used to own copier/printer service company and printing shop in Brooklyn. We were not happy with results out of this finisher. Again, in my opinion $300-400 expence not a huge deal for a business and may by worth to try, even if it may wind up being semi-usefull, still would be ok but I had all this available to me dealing these printers for last 15 years and could and did pull any piece of equipment from sales/service side to printshop and we did not like that finisher.
