Hi, Not sure if this is a software problem or not.
When printing or reprinting from a job stored on the fiery either there is just a line of cyan on one end and no cyan on the image, the sheet is completely toned cyan over the image or random lines of cyan.
This is only happening when printing from fiery (CWS) Copying seems to be fine.
I tried printing from 3 computers using different versions of CWS still the same . ( I thought it may be a connection problem.)
Backup/Restore is greyed out on CWS so no joy there.
    Fiery System 6e DC_250 - V1.1
I know this is an old machine, but has been brilliant up to a day ago.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Rusty

After running some tests, Print Patterns are fine as is Copying it's just printing from the Fiery which is causing the cyan printing problem.

    Thanks

A full, however faint background of cyan could be a humidity issue, or perhaps a poor output profile calibration. Sometimes colors get added in the highlights at density levels that are much too high.
When is the last time you calibrated the media? what does the very bottom of your curve look like VS the target line? How does the overall chart look like VS the target?

Though, this wouldn't explain dark lines of cyan through the prints...

    How old is the drum?

    Hi, thanks for your response,

Copying and test patterns are printing perfectly it's just printing from the fiery which is causing the problem, I have tested printing from 3 computers using different CWS .. still the same.

Most prints come out with the print fully covered toned in cyan.

That's why I don't believe it is anything to do with the drums or calibration, I have already swapped them around and they are 100% ok.

I think it may be software related as:

I cleaned and securely re-connected the thick SCSI cable between the Fiery and the IOT.

Cleaned all the contacts, and re-seated the cards in the Fiery and the IOT.

Cleaned and added new thermal paste to the cpu in the fiery, found it dries out after a while and can effect the connection.

Still no joy, having the same problems with the cyan.

    Thanks again
    Rusty

Right, still no joy with this cyan problem ..

Cleaned all the contacts, and re-seated the cards in the Fiery and the IOT, securely re-connected the thick SCSI cable between the Fiery and the IOT..
Cleaned and added new thermal paste to the cpu in the fiery.

Just installed a new SSD with Fiery V1.2, at least all software is working correctly now including Backup & Restore not being greyed out.

There's still a cyan coating across the whole print when printing from the Fiery, copying & test prints are fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Rusty

The process of making a copy doesn't use the EFI output profiles, it still could be an issue. No matter what CWS computer you're using, they still stem from the same controller, It's easy to just re calibrate, take a look at the output, and rule out the calibration as an issue.

Hi, i'll give it a try, although it's a bit weird that it would go from perfect prints to such extreme cyan problems over night.
I tested different computers as I though it may of been a problem with one of the apps or CWS on the original computer to begin with, but alas it was not.
    Thanks again.

Although saying that .. I usually calibrate from CWS but as it's not printing out cyan correctly the ColorCal page is unusable. I'm unable to calibrate from the DC250 as the 'all services' only shows Copy - Network Scanning - Stored Programming is it not supposed to show Web Applications to enable Calibration? Is there a way to print out a ColorCal from the Docucolor any other way? Thanks

Hi, turned out to be the Fiery X3ETY Video Board which had gone.
