What do you mean you couldnt register? You tried cmyk then perfect printing of pantones? or straight cmyk+ pantones?

no not with perfect printing. we us thw 1+2+3+4th unite to print th cmyk. thin to add a 2 color on 6+7th unit,
The colors are superbly previewed and adjusted, but the colors in 6 + 7 units are not installed in the same way, and we cannot shift them until they fit in prematurely.
There is a difference in registrars

Not sure I fully understand your problem but let me take a shot at it. If the circumferential register is out on the problem units, then perhaps you need to mechanically roll the plate cylinders,on the problem units, to get them positioned the same as the other units. This can be done by opening the covers on the gear side of the press and loosening the large bolts around the plate cylinder. Once loosened the cylinders can be moved so that they all read the same on the scale. Its best to use the spring loaded locating pins to align ALL 6 units to the same position. This procedure is way more than can be explained here, but should be outlined in your presses operating manual. If you do not have the manual then its time to buy one!!!

It sounds like you are having to change circumferential register to fit on the sheet after makeready and 50 or so sheets, yes? If so, the plate cylinder double gear assembly may be dry, and requires greasing. Look at the face of the outer gear (under the yoke) and search for a greasing zerk.

Sounds like the first 4 units are printing together in one position on the sheet, and units 6 and 7 are printing together but in a different position on the sheet. Is this correct? If so, how far out are units 6-7, and are they ahead (closer to the gripper) or behind units 1-4?

I’m gonna just read your OP, and then take a blind guess at it. I say it has something to do with your perfecting unit, since this is happening after unit #4.

Didn't get the part about if the press is a perfecter or not, but if there is a perfector between 4 and 5, then this explanation sounds very plausible.
