Hi all - I am trying to find a printer that can print on thin plastic strips and am 100% unfamiliar with printing technologies, etc. I have attached a picture of the strips - they are .0150 thick, .850 high, and either 6 or 9 inches long. I only need to print about 10 a month, so am not looking for a high output machine. Here's a picture of the strips (9 inch not shown): https://imgur.com/a/OlXCLul Ideally I am looking for a source for both the plastic stock and a printer that can take plastic sheets and print on them in white and black. If anyone knows a manufacturer, model or has any other ideas I'd be grateful. Thanks.
As far as desktops go, Im rather certain you won't find an inkjet able to accommodate this. You're going to need to go with a laser printer of sorts. If you reach out to the manufacturers, inquire about the fuser temperatures - Cooler the better. Ask if they can can handle synthetics. I know Canon (on the production side) has developed a toner with an exceptionally low melting point, They call this their CV Toner - you can ask if the smaller devices use the same technology. Is the material you're running laser approved? or digital approved? How have you been printing them previously?
