Fiery XF - Color Paper

    Hi All,

    Fiery XF 6.3 and Epson 9080 - HDX Chrome.
    I got problem when I want to simulate the paper white (92, 1, -4) of target profile
    I choose "Absolute Colorimetric (paper white) for the rendering intent but the result I got on printout:
    (92, 1.8, -3.5)

    The proof paper has color (95, 0.5, 2).
    So when we compare between the target (92, 1, -4) and printout (92, 1.8, -3.5), the printout seems too reddish.
    Do you know how to fix this problem?

    Keep in mind the colorimetric render intents do not manage out of gamut colors very well at all. What type of file are you printing? IF it's an RGB photo, colorimetric isn't going to do your file much justice.

    I am using an Epson Surecolor Inkjet to simulate a ICC profile (like Forgra 39), and the color space of Epson Surecolor Inkjet is bigger and covers all color space of Forgra 39. That is why the rendering intents is not so important in this case. I am trying to match the white point (paper white) only.

    Hi deltaE,
    Do you use the in-line spectrophotometer or a separate spectrophotometer ?
    If it is I1 Pro2, do you use M0, M1 or M2 ?
    Have you possibility to Edit Paper Simulation white point values by other separate device (only for checking result) ?
    I had similar cases (but for other printers) as for old device (I1Pro) and as for new one (I1Pro2). In all cases the device could be callibrated (on its calibration cradle) without error. In one case I1Pro2 was calibrated witn M0, but could not with M1.

    Hi Leon77,

    I am using an X-rite eXact Standard, and the value is only changed a little in b-axis (0.5 point); and the a-axis is not changed.
    My spectrometer has self-calibrated function every 24 hours.
    For my issue, it might be the problem when I use i1-profiler software to read the IT8 and create the ICC-profile of offset press.
    IMHO, it could be better if I use profile creator function of FieryXF and use it to make the proof.
