    Hi all,

As the title says we have a Wohlenberg MSC-2 Typ 92 that has been sitting idle for quite a while and refuses to operate. About the only thing that woks is the clamping beam, but that will not travel all the way to bed and is weak so that is the first issue. The other issues are:
    • The battery was dead and was replaced today. When the main switch is turned on I can see LED's on the IO board operating as different buttons are pressed so I know signals are at least getting that far. The only contactors that pull in when the power is applied are C1 and C32
    • The backstop will not move in any direction in both manual or automatic mode and releasing the brake does nothing.
    • If I remove the belt from the backstop motor and manually move the backsop around 400mm I can get the actual backguard distance to display but as soon as I enter a distance and press the green backguage advance button the display will show A-Err.

    • the light curtain has a red led only and will not change to green when trying to activate the blade.
It did do a few cuts last week but then the above problems started.

I anyone is able to to offer any suggestions and has manuals for the machine it would be greatly appreciated. My email is d3delta3d@gmail.com

    Thanks for your help
    Brad

    Thanks for that.

Ours in the version without the TV if that makes a difference.

Do you have any specific advice on what to look for? I am thinking there may be some dry joins somewhere given it worked a few cycles then stopped.

How to look for both Dry +Colders joint.
Use Reheating Station like they use in Lab for Repair Cellulars.

    Thanks Chock.

I spent some more time on the machine today re-soldering some suspicious solder joints and checking other connections. The Guillotine backguard now operates correctly, the clamping beam and cutter blade comes down and the light curtain is working correctly

The issue now is the display only shows the actual position of the backguard but no other information. This means the machine cannot be programmed or backstop positions entered. Also none of the buttons on the keypad seem to be registering. Automatic mode also does not work. Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Thanks
    Brad

    Great Job Buddy.
Look for loose connection, and corroded wires, connector, in the encoder, sensors.
