Goin nuts here. Stacker cant decide if it wants to be useful or not :)

Im printing and stacking a very large run of letter size, COPIER paper 20lb. straight outta reams... offset every 16 pgs.

give or take a few, after about 100 sheets, the trailing edge will start to "float" eventually, the next sheet will ram into it, roll up, and jam. Printing short edge feed, makes it a lil better, but its still stinks. Doesn't feel like static to me...but could be?

Iv'e had trouble like it before, but not to this extent.

Curious, maybe I fudged a NVM whilst messing with the labels? I set back everything I "remember" changing. remember in quotes, because I'm in my 40's LOL

    ideas?

Been awhile since I've been on, probably a bit late for ya, but has your active static bar going into the stacker been cleaned recently?

Had the same issue with levitating stock and getting that thing cleaned made everything land nice and smooth again.

I have been having this problem and it has gotten worse. I am running 7 page letters in groups of 7 pages - so I get a stack of about 2000 sheets before the feed tray lowers.. I finally had a juggling act going - letting the feed tray run out earlier and lowering the stacker before the stack was too high - but now I am lucky if I get 100 sheets before it hits and curls and lowers the stacker. The tech came in and suggested I flip the paper over to curl the opposite way and it worked great - for about two days. It has taken me 4 or 5 days to run about 20,000 letter sets (and we have 250,000 letter sets). Thankfully they have found a way to run some on black and white machines by preprinting letterhead... Of course it has to be out in a hurry along with our normal jobs. I am starting to really hate the printing business... Does anyone have a photo of the nip rollers and the wheel someone suggested checking?

How do you print short edge feed? My iGen4 won't recognize paper that small, short edge feed (letter and legal have to feed long edge feed)... I feel your pain for sure... For a few days flipping the paper over so it curled down was working great - then all of the sudden I am lucky to get 100 sheets before it does what you described... And with 70,000 sheets left to go on just the one job - yikes! Customer wants the job done in March - this year! Like early next week March... Not gonna happen, but ... we have more running on preprinted letterhead on black and white Konicas (thank God or we would never get done).

For awhile I had quite the juggling act going - letting the paper feed drawer (I can only use lower tray) run out and then lowering the stacker and taking out the 1500-2000 sheets that had run before it began running into each other - kind of like a rear end collision... I had the stacker lower at least 6 times in one run of 300 sets of 7 page letters... I was ready to walk out the door and never look back (except I need to be able to pay the bills). And when it wasn't that, the feed tray was lowering after a bunch of different registration faults. Fun times, fun times... That's why I consider myself a BABYSITTER OF PRINTERS more than a print operator...

when you click into your tray on the psp, and get "feeder tray settings" look to the right, you'll see long edge, and short edge options.

    and hello fellow babysitter!

im ALWAYS having stacker or feeder problems. dry, flimsy paper, static or labels!!!!... if I walked out under the conditions you are alluding to, ID have quit 100 times over lol

I don't see that option. We have the printer that goes up to 14.33 x 26" sheets - I wonder if those are configured differently?

Found the setting you mentioned. Haven't tried it yet. Afraid to try anything new until this job is done
