    Hi,
We are having some problems on printing Vinyl with our MGI 8700. It prints fine until the 300 th unit or so, and then starts jamping in the exit unit.
We are using a Ritrama Vinyl, but don´t know if it could be a vinyl problem so I wonder if some of you are printing on vinyl with MGI printers and, if so, what type of vinyl are you using.
    Thanks

There is a thin metal blade, which is coated on clear plastic in the fuser unit (exit).
If plastic is worn, it will cause paper curling. Add a tape on the blade.
It´s amazing how it works after that, no curling anymore. It´s unbelievable, but it works.

But, if you can print paper without curling then you have problem in something else.

BTW can you scratch toner off from the vinyl?
Is this the first time when printing that type of vinyl, maybe it melts in the fuser?

Thank you very much for the advice. We will do the test.
To finish the work we had started, we changed the brand of vinyl and everything is correct. We have bought a brand on the recommendation of the manufacturer that is a little more expensive, but it prints correctly.
It has not jammed again in the output of the melter. We have printed 3000 sheets without jams and the toner is perfectly fixed.

    Hi,
We change from Ritrama Vinyl to Fasson Vinyl. The first three or four large works it worked fine, but in this moment we are having the same problem we had with th Ritrama Vinyl.
We are printing 650x320 mm sheets. Past week we did a 2.500 sheet job with no problem, but we are having problems now. It is supposed that this new Fasson Vinyl is correct for digital printing, but we are having the same problems that we had when printing with the opld vinyl.

Hi, would you mind sharing the exact name of the Ritrama range you are using?

    Thanks,

    Barry
