paper feed issues Ricoh C5501 into finisher

Hi there,

we just got a Ricoh C 5501 (two years old) and after setting it up, we noticed, that every print out which should go to the finisher (SR3030) stops right away in the bridge unit before the finisher.
It seems that the finisher cannot grab the paper.
I tried another finisher and also another bridge unit from another printer, but still the same issue.

Does somebody has an idea???

Was the unit installed professionally? Maybe the finisher or marking engine is not at the proper height to meet the other.
My guess being the finisher is slightly higher than the engine. Even a millimeter difference could cause the sheet to fall above or below the center of the feed rollers.

are you able to cheat the finisher door? maybe you can see where the sheet is landing, or if the feed rollers are spinning.

It fails to grab with all media, all the time?

thanks for your answer, the paper actually stops right away in front of the rollers of the finisher. The height is exactly the same like it was installed before and I tried different heights, Tte paper goes actually in the finisher and stops right there and I get a paper jam message showing paper jam in the bridge unit (changed the bridge unit as well). Yes, it fails all the time, with all media.

 

I'm starting to think it's a sensor perhaps? Perhaps one that's been bent or twisted in a way where it's not detecting the sheet at all.
The machine tracks the sheet all the way until that sensor, then it looses the location of the sheet, thus triggering a jam at the point of lost location.

If you've replaced a lot of components in the finishing unit, perhaps the issue (sensor, or otherwise) lies at the exit point of the marking engine.
