    Hello everyone
We recently started having problems with our SPRINT GS 228.
When we turn on main power the press acts like there is a short in it. It doesn’t give the normal power up alarm, just makes a funny buzzing noise. We can play with the power knob turning it on and off, on and off until the press powers up correctly. From that point we get oil pump overload or water fountain motor overload. If we get past this point and everything seems fine, as soon as we turn on the air pump the press shuts down and make a buzzing sound.
On other days none of this will happen. Seems to be getting worse.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi sir:

Normally this pass since, the contacts for Main C.breaker Input can be faulty by dirty, or faulty, or Power Knob too in the same way.

You can do this following test: When you try to Turning it on and off, until the press power up correctly.

Measure with the DMM(Digital multimeter) if there are 220Vca or 380 Vca, or other voltages that you can use.use the Schematic Diagram.

I do not have this schematic diagrams from your machine, But if you send me in PDF to my email, can help you more deeply.

First in the Input contacts of the Power Knob tight wires loose , and then in the contact output of the power Knob, tight wires loose
In that ways you will see if the Power Knob contacts if Faulty or o.k

Sounds like your main circuit breaker, the one you keep turning on and off, is failing. I'd order a replacement breaker before you damage something on the press.

We are measuring 230V going into the power knob and 155V coming out of power knob in the power on position. Would that mean the power know is faulty?

Power Knob is fulty: is very simple the 23oVac in the input must be the same in the Output 230 Vac !! Input 230VAC=Output230Vac

Took power supply breaker out and opened it up. It was all burned up on the inside. Called Komori parts. New one is $622.00 and needs to come from Japan. Would it be worth looking local for something like this?
