Water Dripping

We recently purchased a used 2008 D3000 6/c. It came equipped with ATG chill rollers with floclear filtration system. We have been experiencing an issue with what seems to be water droplets before the 6th unit causing the print to smear. We do not see any visible leaks. Any suggestions?

 

Is a thorough cleaning of the entire water system part of your regular maintenance routine? If not I would suggest you flush the entire water system periodically to clean all of the lines. Very often a sluggish return will cause the water pans to overflow and drip. Look for a commercially available flushing concentrate and be sure to follow instructions. It also wouldn't hurt to disconnect the return line from the pan and blow it out with compressed air before you begin the flush just to get out the heavy buildup. You may have to figure out a way to isolate each unit separately when blowing out the lines to avoid a major mess on the other units. You will probably be surprised at some of the gunk that comes out when blowing out the lines. Once all the heavy stuff is blown out, then you can use the flush. Be sure to rinse out the flush chemical completely. 3 or 4 rinse out cycles wouldn't be too much. Rinse until the conductivity of the flush water is at or close to the conductivity of the tap water going in. After all this you will need to set your feed valves at each unit. I like to set the feed flow to the highest flow that the return can handle without overflowing. This insures the freshest and most temperature consistent solution in your pan. As you get closer and closer to flush out time you may have to lessen the water feed to each unit so as not to overflow the pan. If you've got your water feed set so low that you cant see little ripples in the pan, then its probably time to flush!!!
