We recently got a used Ryobi 3304h that was apparently rather neglected by the previ0us owner. After a lot of cleaning, most of the stuck parts, mainly the ink keys, became operational again, My problem now is the vertical adjustment on the second, and I think the fourth unit, are stuck. I located the bolt with the worm gear on it, lubed it etc. After loosening the nut on the other end of that bolt, I found I could turn it, but only as much as I loosened the nut, so I knew I was only moving the bolt, and not the cylinders. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to loosen this up in order to make the adjustment?
    Thanks for any help.

Hello, there are 2 possible things going on here. First, the mechanism could be sticky due to fountain solution etch or ink build up and second, the mechanism may be locked up due to the worm gear not meshing up properly.
On the second issue, if you can losen the 3 X 4mm bolts that holds the worm gear block on the end of the cylinder, then wiggle the mechanism slightly, push back in tight to the worm gear, and re tighten the bolt , this may fix the issue.

There is a greese nipple located on the gear close to the scale, pump lots of greese in there and work the adjustment, it will free up eventually.

Thanks for everybody's help. Here is how the issue was resolved. After squirting grease and every other type of lubricant/penetrating oil I could find, it only came loose by tapping it with a hammer and brass drift pin. My local guy, who was on vacation during most of this, came and tapped around the cylinder pushing the gear away from the cylinder. I am sure all the lube helped, but that is what ultimately broke it loose. Thanks again, and I hope maybe this will help someone else as well.
