Fuser Problems

Started yesterday with "call for service" 10-5009 fuser voltage out of range....

reseated stuff, found bracket that guides web assembly missing screw, bracket laying directly on the external roller.... ran for a bit.

But, then got restart error. 10-4401 low temp(normal, it happens), 10-4117external roll1 undertemp...

also 10-4119 OVERtemp in standby....?

thoughts? thermistor going ga-ga, or worse?

 

It's probably the thermostat going out, not the thermister.

Addendum: can you look at your DC1001 -> Fuser Temp AC Line Voltage? Are the sensed temps close to the setpoint temps?

after originally figuring out the fuser error..... I rebooted one more time, and... i hit the fuser drawer killswitch. LOL

 

NOPE. still at it. 10-5009

 

interesting. missed your post. was laughing about earlier faux pas....

clear error, let it try to warm up. open 1001 to watch, they all start coming EXCEPT for the metering goes VERY slowly...? but then errors out with 10-5009 after a few minutes.

 

Meter roll does warm slowly. If everything comes to temp steadily, then your thermistors are fine.

Not sure if you'd have a spare one around, but 10-5009 is one of those errors that I check for bare wires, barring that, new thermostat.

And I keep getting interrupted!
If your stuff starts warming up first before throwing the voltage fault, the wiring is probably fine. The thermostat there acts kind of like a fuse for the system in case of overheating. But as it wears old, it becomes weaker/more sensitive to heat. As long as your temps aren't going significantly over the setpoints, the thermostat is just crapping out early, cutting off power to the system, and that's how you get a voltage fault vs a heating fault.

 

solved. it WAS a thermister! we THINK a pin not making full contact.....

well, it was for the external rolls. and are original.

id replaced all the fuser side thermisters and thermostat a couple years ago.
