A few, firstly describe won't staple correctly all the time. then we may be able to help. The heads are pretty simple, but the causes and specifics need some details. A lot is covered in the trouble shooting in the manual, how long has it also been since the heads were service? IME they need to be pulled apart and cleaned - greased in the 1-2 million staple range. Does not take much to cause the wire to miss feed. Also make sure the clenchers are not jammed and the head is mounted correctly over the clenches.

System a little over a year old. Does not get run daily, and the heads have not been serviced since we got it a little over a year ago. Not stapling as the staple on the inside is either too short or to long on one end tried adjusting that. No luck with that. Thanks

Too short - too long and varying is normally down to a wire feed issue, the spring brake bit on the wire spool, they want to be as lose as possible, too much tension will hold it back and cause the issue. As will running the incorect wire size. 0.54mm ish is std on duplo's here in the uk, the heads will acept upto 0.6 and they will also go a fair bit thinner, but 0.54 is a pretty well proven diamiter. Cheap crappy wire will cause you issues.

Adjusting wire length is a 2 step process, first you want enough wire length by adjusting the knob at the top, after adjusting it you need to run 2-3 booklets then look at the last one, how the heads work is the wires cut off for then next book when it does a staple, hence any adjustments don't come through on the next booklet but the one after if that makes sense.

Once you have enough wire length you need to balance the leg lengths up, that’s the little knurled wheel on the bottom of the head. Again just like stitch length, it takes 2 booklets to see the results!

If its still being intermitant after that, its normally in need of a clean out, some wires shed more than enough crap to jam up the wire guides at the bottom of the head and cause random stitching wire lengths.

Did they show you how to unjam it by softly tapping the clincher points down with a screw driver? If not they should have done as its a skill you will need once in a while.

Its not uncommon, some times if its really bad you have to hit the screw driver with a hammer, like any jam, try softly first then build up the force, you want a nice wide slotted style screw driver. if your really brutal you can brake the clenches points, though i have never done so, but then like i say, hit it softly then a bit firmer till they free, don't start with the sledge hammer! Most times a fist bump to the end of the screw driver is all it takes, its not uncommon for it to happen on a wire change either if the first stitch ends up too short - long

Duplo DBM-5000 with about 4.5 million on it.
Had collar/bushing come out side of stitch head holder unit the other day... ever seen this?
Caused E72 errors.. heads units really loose, probably will work their way back out on next size change.

Clean it up and use some loctite retaining compound to rescuer it in there, sub 2 minute job, never seen that before ever either, but hay some one always has to come up with a new way of breaking there machine! Probaly got a combined several hundred years now on all the machines i repair and no one has ever had thoes come out, was a very similar - same design to earlier duplo's and cant ever recall seeing one come out before. loctite will sort it nicely, just oil the shaft up so it does not get stuck to it and use a tiny smear only on the cleaned and degreased bushes OD
