I have had this problem before, feel like I even mentioned it. But I cannot find it here.

I just completely rebuilt both VGT's belts and shafts... due to a seized bearing. all thats working. but I still cannot stack! as paper hits the turn transport, it kicks sideways, and gets "late to VGT" errors. LE and TE both..

I am lost. see photo. IMG_5976.jpg

The TE kick happens to me quite a bit. But it should pick it up and straighten out in time for stacking.
Late to VGT entrance or exit sensor? Whatever it is late to the problem is somewhere just before it (obviously).
Test different stock thicknesses. Does it always jam?
Any roller marks showing up on the sheet?

    That's all I got!
    Enjoy the top tray :)

The paper kick is normal operation. Check the 3 turn transport nip rolls and make sure they are synced up with each other. Check the plastic sensor timing disk at the back of each nip shaft and make sure it doesn't spin freely on the shaft. If you energize the turn transport motor then turn each nip shaft assy on , it should have a steady rhythm. If any one has hesitation or unsteady rhythm then the timing disk is loose. If they all have a steady sound when energized, then the timing disk might not be at the right position in relation to the shaft.

aww thanks id love to chat, Milo.... but got it stacking again briefly. also, the people gettin' paid to fix it are here LOL

I scrubbed the reg rollers i think they were oily... then tightened up the springs on that pre-vgt baffle. I was working on getting a diecut 14x17 label stock to stack better as well, and set my stacker altitude to 7500 ft. :) its loud but it works.... or WORKED until now...

back in the completely unresponsive stacker and feeder boards loop. I have another thread on it. Did that before but it came out of it. stuck this time.

Does anyone have a photo or diagram of this? I'm not sure where to look for the timing disks... I have been working on these things for 5 or 6 years (maybe longer than that, started with whatever came before the igen) and still learning new tips and tricks. And still waiting for them to finish completely rebuilding the printer. LOL.

Thanks. Any ideas to keep lightweight letter size paper from having a rear end collision as it comes off into the stacker? For awhile it was working good as long as I made sure to load the paper with the curl down. It's a single sided job (thank goodness or this would be so much worse). It gets maybe 100 sheets and then hits the stack, curls and lowers the stacker... almost like the paper is not dropping fast enough as it stacks and the trail edge is catching on the incoming sheet... I went days with having a good stack of 1500-2000 sheets and then it wasn't so friendly ...

When you can go into the stacker unit lower your stacker tray and check that your vacuum belts are all lined up with each other in each set. That means that all the vacuum holes are lined up with each other in the VCT number one and all the vacuum holes are lined up with each other in VCT number two so you won't have jamming or dropping paper in the middle of stacking

I will double check. I have been watching those because we have had problems in the past with those... I have had two techs in here who looked at it and said it was okay... I wonder if a drive belt is slipping or something... They replaced one a couple of week ago that the teeth and worn smooth...

Is it possible the vacuum/suction might not be working correctly?

    Thanks.
