As a mechanic, I've never personally used one, but there are quite a number of them in use in my area.

Are you looking at one of these to replace your feeder operator, or to make his job a little easier? Ive never used one myself, but I worked in a place that had what I seem to remember as a Polar pile turner. That model was a very robust hunk of iron, that worked really well. It featured airing of the load and was easy to use if you could get to it. We had it in a packaging shop and it was shared by multiple presses so at time there was a line to use it.

well we only run max sheet size 23*29 and only have a 6 color cd. shop is slowly starting to go to digital presses. we are not looking to get rid of a feeder position but trying to make the position easier. we have had some good ones in that can learn to run the feeder but really no luck finding on that can jog paper to. most end up getting frustrated and leaving.

the ability to handle and jog paper is an integral part of the feeder operators job. Its not something that will be mastered overnight, but if you're hiring people that can't get the hang of it after a few months they should rethink their career choices. Or perhaps you as a manager should rethink them choices for them.

Pile turners has been used since early eighties in my country, but if the printer doesnt care to produce straight clean pallets it´s useless.
