    Plug in a new one...?

On a more serious note, the QMDI uses a serial port mouse, my guess is these are getting hard to come by now. When you used to buy a mouse 15 years ago it came with a special serial port adapter for these type of applications you may be able to find one at Fry's or Ebay. LOL

Come on you can do better than that. I think you are holding out on us. LOL....
Are you saying any serial port mouse will work? Do you need to load drivers in dos?

Here is the part # for the official Heidelberg QMDI mouse A4.114.1112/trackball RS232. The problem is Heidelberg will sell you this mouse but they dont tell you it does not work. And tech support does not know how to make it work. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Does your old mouse still work somewhat? (or did you never have a working mouse on this particular machine)

    Dear Paul,
Our original trackball mouse was working good up to now but this week when we start the QMDI, there is an error on booting and the system does not find a mouse (see attached print screen).
I tried with another mouse with the PS1 connector bu same problem.
Do you think I must change the motherboard of the PC since I have one in spare?
    Thank you for your help.
    ALain

Error 53, that is network error from RIP comunication with the Press computer, no mouse need, any people with know in MSDOS can install any mouses, i did this with a modern computer and USB mouse or touch screen, so i not necesary spwcial mouses. And obvius you need configurated in MSDOS in the mouse line (autoexec.bat) the mouse setting.
