I've got two 9880's and the length of the prints on one printer are too short.
If I print say an 800mm image on one then it comes out 800mm long but if I print on the other it comes out about 795mm & banding can be seen on the image. Not only that but if I measure the image side to side there is about 2-3mm difference in length.
Both printers are set exactly the same, same firmware same driver etc & I have done a factory reset on the one causing the problem along with a full head alignment just incase, but cannot figure out what is causing the problem.

Forgot to mention that the thicker the media the worse the problem. 80gsm matt paper prints pretty close to the required length but 200gsm is what i was using in the above tests

    Hello Swb
i just joined the forum. I, too, am having the same issue with my Epson 9880 as well as my new Sure Color 9000. A printing friend made a suggestion that seems to work.
    Choose File>Print.

Click on the Page Setup button on the Print dialogue screen.

Have paper source set to “Roll”.

In the middle of the page set up screen click on the “Paper Config…” button. It is to the right of the ”Quality Options” button.

On the new dialogue screen, raise the “Paper Feed Adjustment” as high as possible. For me, that is +70.

The effect of this is to push the canvas through more forcefully and it will help with the measurement problem.

This solved my problem and the prints now come out even on each side. Prior to this setting my prints were up to 1/4 inch shorter on the vertical left side than the right side.

PS. This issues is not just with the 9880. I purchased a Sure Color 9000 and the same issue occurs.
