    :)HI
I have a Ryobi DI 2003. Certains sections on the plate on the 1st unit are not imaging completly. Increasing the imaging strength on the lazer unit has not rectified the problem. The machine indicates that the lazer is ok. Any thoughts or suggestions.

    image voids

Sounds like either a dirty lens cover on your laser heads (one void area vertically down the plate), or perhaps a loose firewire cable (multiple voids evenly spaced vertically down the plate).Hope this helps.

no technician needed......to clean laser cover rotate plate cylinder around to about 12:00 position and remove gap cover......now inch cylinder over so you can reach in with a couple fingers and clean laser cover with soft clean cloth and alcohol ....pull cloth forward gently toward you, dont go back and forth any debris on there could scratch .....inspect cloth ...if its real dirty thats probably your culprit...dont use blanket or roller wash on the cover!! a petroleum based solvent will fog the plastic
to check firewire connection simply find two cables coming in from press to back of your pc workstation and inspect them for cuts or frays and check connections
also .....when changing power of laser be sure resolution is set properly.....the default when opening your power screen is 50 (lower rez)....you have to change it to 100 (highest resolution) i'm assuming you image at the higher resolution.
    good luck my friend
