Hi Ahmed - We have had this problem recently on one of our DI's. We were also getting a 12-10 error but there was no dropped or lost sheet in the press. The problem turned out to be at the feeder. We had an air leak on one of the side blowers which was causing the sheet to go in skewed every now and then but not always. This would cause the sheet to travel through incorrectly and trip the sensor below the feeder near the cage which resulted in the 12-10 error. We fixed the leak in the side blower and the problem disappeared. So I would recommend that you check all your feeder settings and make sure that every sheet is travelling straight when entering and passing through the paper path. Check the sensor at the bottom also - make sure it is clean and that it is indeed working properly. Ther is a green light on top of the sensor whic is activated when the sensor is triggered. I think it is the B26 sensor - not sure if I have the number right. You can also turn off this sensor SF18 I think but then you will not know if you really have a lost sheet in the press if it really happens - not safe to run with this sensor off but you can turn it off to see if the problem goes away.

Hope this all helps - I had many sleepless night trying to figure out this problem and when I found the leak in the side blower, it was a huge relief to see the 12-10 error code disappear.

    Regards

    Shawn

    Hi,

It is possibly not the sensor itself but the fact that the paper sheets are not passing the sensor correctly every time. The odd sheet (randomly) may be going through skewed and this may be triggering the sensor. That is the problem I had - the sensor was fine. Just thought you should check that.

    Regards

How are you checking that they are leaking? They do not sometimes work and other times not. The Short Stroke Pistons have two directions, you have to check each direction by removing one airline. It is possible for it to work one direction and leak in the other direction. When you remove the airline that is not pressurized there should be nothing coming out of the piston, if there is the piston is bad. Next, use the codes to pressurize the other airline and remove the one that has no pressure, once again, no air should be coming out of the piston.
