    Hello everyone,

My Canon IPF9100 is printing with a grey show on fine lines and text in the direction that the paper feeds.

As the printer does passes, i notice that the first one of two bands tend to be fine, but on the final bands, the shadow appears.

I have attached an image of what i mean:

I have replaced the Left printhead multiple times, I have performed every calibration in regular and service mode.

Some of the calibraitons are failing. LF tuning fails, advanced banding calibrastion fails, printhead adjustment fails.

It's like the feed or eccentricity of the rolls is not lined up properly and on the later passes of each band it feeds the paper too much by a fraction of a millimetre.

Both printheads in the machine are like new.

Does anyone have any idea as to what coould be causing these issues?

    Thanks

    Marcus

If the left head will not adjust to right, is it possible to adjust the right to left? I know its not a fix, however it may get you running until you can fix the calibration on left print head.

    Hello Bill,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry i don't think that is possible with this model of printer. You can only calibrate or align both printheads at the same time.

Anyway, i suspect it is a banding or paper feed missalignment rather than a printhead alignment issue.

I have replaced BOTH printheads now, with no luck.

Also, i have found out that it is only doing this on Matte Paper settings but not on Satin / Glossy paper settings.

However, i have already changed the printhead that contains the Matte Black ink.

    HI!

I have the exakt same problem with my IPF8400 printer, it is a shadow on text when I print on matte paper and the Matte Black is used.

Did you find any solution on the problem?

    Hi there,

Yes i did manage to fix this (touch wood). I clean the Linear Scale (silver strip along back of printer) and this massively helped.

After this, it did a full proper calibraiton print and is now printing properly! (touch wood)

    Good Luck.

    thank you.
    Question:
    Where is this strip?
    How do you clean it

    HI!

I found the silver strip and did a cleaning and I have great prints on glossy paper but when I use MBK on matte paper
I have this vertikal miss-alignment in black MBK that I cant fix with manuell alignment because
It has this huge miss-alignment as shown in the attached file. You see the miss-alignment on the text as well.
I have done calibration, head alignment and everything turns out good on glossy paper with BK
    color.

If you have any good suggestion What it could be It would be must appreciated.
