We have the CPC 1-03 manual and we are trying to understand how to store multiple jobs on to the memory card. Exactly what is the difference between the STORE and RECORD JOB functions? Does STORE only write to the limited internal memory whereas RECORD JOB, which you are able to choose a job number, writes to the external storage card?

    Dear Sir:
    Hi hope you are well
ink zone and ink fountain rollers set in the machine are
transfered in Memory Called Non-volatile,like ROM.
Now when you call to that position or Place in the internal Memory.
Previously Save in Memory ROM flash, you can Record in Cassete or Job Card Memory.
Store vs Record are similar BUT no equal.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still not certain I understand, but am trying to.

Let's say I have 2 different jobs with different ink zone and fountain settings. To save "Job 1" to the memory card, I would use the RECORD JOB function, select job "1", enter my ink settings, and press INPUT (green) to save it the memory card. I would repeat this same procedure selecting job "2" for the second job. Is this correct?

To load those settings I would press "READ IN JOB", select the job number, and press INPUT (green).

Do I then press STORE to put the job settings into the internal memory to use for running the job on the press? Or Is the STORE button only for programming ink zone and ink fountain settings into the internal memory without the need for the memory card? So I'm basically asking if STORE is needed for loading and saving to or from the memory card.

I'm trying to understand the order of operations when recording job settings, reading them back in when needed, and then applying them for the selected job.

    Thanks for any help.

After transfering the job from the card to the internal memory, use the positioning button (select the position in the internal memory from 1 to 5 where you put the job) & then green button to get the job from the internal memory to the press

I'll have to look through the manual again, but I thought that the internal memory 1 to 5 was only available for the CPC 1-04? This is a CPC 1-03.

You still have to use the positioning button to send the information to the press.

OK, I assume you're referring to the POSITIONING button in the upper left corner of the panel. Below the POSITIONING label it says OVER-MODULATION in blue color text, is this correct?

Can you explain when you need to press the STORE button though? I'm just struggling a bit with the order of operations for recording (saving) a job to the memory card, reading it back in, and ensuring the the press gets the correct values for the selected job.

We acquired this press recently and we're trying to determine if the memory card is working at all.

If it wasn't storing to card correctly it would normally show an error code

I use CPC 1.02 so i can explain a bit...
Store button= Ink keys+ink sweep from CONSOLE to internal memory
Record job button=ink keys+sweep from internal memory to card/cassete/file etc
Read job=Reads ink settings from card/cassete/file TO internal memory of CONSOLE
Position= Sets ink keys+sweep from internal memory of CONSOLE to press

Lets say you have a job stored from external program for ink key/sweep setting -as long as it is in the proper extension so the cpc can read-
    1. read job button and choose number then green -NOTE if you hold ! button and press tower eg 1 BLACK you can affect the reading quantity of ink higher or lower-
    2. position button -NOTE 1 if you hold ! button and press tower eg 1 BLACK you can affect the ink duct sweep to turn slower for of duct foil saving-
-NOTE 2 before you press green you can press +/- to change ink sweep and compensates ink keys higher or lower-
    3. after you print sheets and decide you like the current ink settings press STORE
    4.record job

Thanks, that helps a bit. The manual is rather confusing. When you say "ink keys" and "ink sweep" I assume you are referring to the printing unit keys (B, C, M, Y, etc.) and the 32 individual ink zone setting keys (large panel on the left of the CPC controls) respectively correct? I've attached an image from the manual to show you what I mean. We were struggling to have it save and recall the ink zone settings to and from the memory card because they differ for each job, and we have several repeat jobs we'd like to have these settings recalled for.

So you're saying all settings for a job have to be set in the internal memory first, and then those settings are saved to the memory card? I believe we tried that, but it was still not recalling the ink zone settings. OK let me make sure I have this right:

    1. First set our 1 to 32 ink zone settings where we want them for the job. Correct?
    2. Press STORE then press the printing units keys (B, C, M, Y, etc.)
    3. Press INPUT (green button) to save to the internal memory.

    Saving to memory card:

    4. Press RECORD JOB, wait a few seconds for it to read the memory card.
    5. Press +/- keys to select job number, for example job "8". (code 97 shows up if the space is empty which is good)
    6. Press the printing units keys (B, C, M, Y, etc.)
    7. Press INPUT (green button) to save from the internal memory to the memory card for chosen job number (job 8).
    8. Wait a few seconds for it to write to the memory card.

Now if I'm having to recall job 8 from the memory card:

    9. Press READ IN JOB, wait a few seconds for to read the memory card.
    10. Press +/- keys to select job number, job "8".
    11. Press INPUT (green button) to load from memory card into the internal memory.

Now, at this point I should see all 32 ink zones adjust according to what I first set them to back in step 1, correct? Then press POSITIONING to send them to the press.

Ok ink keys i meant are ink zones 1-32 as for ink sweep is the ink fountain roller cant find the proper terminology sorry :)

CPC console by default WITHOUT pressing ANY printing unit button (BCMY) makes any setting you do whether it is register movement -+/- minus button and move laterally 1mm etc- or ink settings or position or zeroing register or ink shutoff for ALL printing units (BCMY) if you press lets say B and C you make changes ONLY for those printing units -register/position/ink/zeroing register/ink shut off-

    1. Correct
2 FIRST you choose the printing units you want -if all dont press anything- then STORE
    3-5 Yes boss
6 If you have a 2 color job you can select the printing units you worked with (C+M) else press BCMY or nothing
    9-11 All good
12 Press green button to send them :)

I can send you 1.02 manual in German if you wish
