Ink Key Presets magnetic strip writer

Is there anyway of imitating the magnetic strip, that is used for presetting the ink keys etc.. or perhaps a writer that could write the data to the magnet strip . I have an older L628+C with PQC, and I'm trying to see if there's a way of presetting the ink keys so that I don't have to do them individually. I can export the information as CIP3/CIP4 PPF, or Komori PQ0, PQ4 and or text.

 

Wouldn't buying a cheap pc and it have connected via a moxa card to the komori and networked to your rip for your ink profiles be the best solution.

 

That would be an awesome solution… any information instruction on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

 

Easy to do, but it will cost a few bucks, on the plus side you'll save time and makeready paper on every job, so it will pay for itself in time.
1. a cheap pc or laptop with networking and a moxa card (ebay), the moxa card is used to connect to the pqc console.
2. komori KMS software (added bonus of saving 1000's of repeat jobs)
3. komori PCC software (ink profile software)
Any local computer dude should be able to get the pc to talk with the press and your prepress, in regards to KMS and PCC you will need to talk to your local komori dealer or someone on this forum way help you out.
If I've got something wrong or forgotten something I'm sure someone else will correct me.
Well worth the effort, depending ink coverage and sheet size I can 30-50 sheet make readies.
