    Hi QM DAVOR
enri is my printer and for your info we boat our QM DI 46+ from Germany 6 months ago and we made the instalataion, start up and training with Heildeberg /Austria.
We ghave work up to now not so much.
We have checked the rubber blanket and spec. was ok 1.95 as you say . same for paper it was 0.4.
Pressure of the rollers was adjusted from HD spacialists as I explained.
We have been working with K+E ink and when we finished we used normal ink by using 3 % dry gel in it and it was OK for as while.
Meantime we got SUNCHEMICAL IRODRY Ink and we faced the problem that enri has explaiend.
If the pressure of the rollers need to be ajusted , is this becouse of the type of Ink ?
What about if we change the ink from IRODRY to K+E or VANSON do you thing is a good idea or you insist and consider better way adjustements of rollers as per your previous advise given to Enri ?
Our interest in fact to use IRODRY Ink as far as we have it in stock.

    Hello dear printer.
Reading your story, I suggest a few things you have to check.
The condition of your 3 ink form rollers, are they nice, Is your line on the plate paralell.
Don't putt them on to heavy onto your plate.
    Temp ,keep it low.
    Pressure blanket/ plate aas normal.
I am using toyo ink and there is no problem.
They have low and medium tack.
Check your ink on the tack.
I know that low tack is giving you more problems, such as tinting on your plate (toning)

    good luck, André

    Hello Marsel,

When we are talking about waterless inks my choice is still IRODRY. I try Vanson SonaDry and had much problems with magenta. A little bit overinking allways produce tonning (this was case on my press). It was better when using normal ink (Vanson, but not waterless) + antitoning paste than original Vanson waterless ink. Toyo inks are much better. I did not notice any problems with this ink except that in comparision with IroDry need much more ink to achieve the same ink density. Currently i am using Irodry serie 7020. Also i tryed waterless inks from HubberGruppe but i was not satisfacted, nor with price and printing capabilities. When i start working with QM i was using Akzo Nobel inks. Those waterless ink was the best i have ever print with. But unfortunately this ink factory stop production or produce under different name. I'm not sure is Akzo Nobel now K+E or something else but under Akzo Nobel name on market i can not buy waterless inks anymore.

I was talking with other QM DI guy here in my country. Even they are not much satisfacted with Irodry ink but still using it.

Sometimes i also have problems with this ink. In case that on printed sheet is bigger ink coverage then must clean blankets much more times than if there is a light coverage. I had some cases when every 1000 sheets must clean blankets. If do not cleaning - plate was destroyed and start tonning and nothing can help without reimaging. Also i was try different plates and see that there also was a difference in printing results with same inks.

Finaly - i think that rollers must be good and well adjusted - no matter what kind of ink you using. I am trying to help you with my experience but i can not quaranteed that i am right and doing all right. It will be better if some other guy who work on this kind of press can share his experience about printing with Irodry or some other ink. If you can not print with Irodry - try to change ink. I found Irodry good enough and didn't move to another ink. But this not mean that it is the best. My and your press not running under 100% exact conditions. Maybe just a little thing makes finaly results good or bad.

    Davor:)

    Ink problem in QMDI

    Hi Davor
    Thank you for your message.
As a matter of fact as you say the solutions comes by testing so we will go up to the end with these tests.
I have been satisfied selecting QM DI 46+ machine as far as I choose it for covering diferent JOBS of booklket and flyers and leaflets requested by Banks in format A4/A5 and A/6 and allso for covers of books.
Enri also is an young ambission guy although he is just 20 years old he like and want to make the press running. In Albania this is a single machine and Thanks to the forum he is learning more and more although may be some time is bothering memberes with his questions.
We finally have ordered some Ink from VANSON HOLLAND and FLINT Group in order to test and check what is going on with these type of inks too.
I would like to ask you if you have any contact with QM printers or owner in Macedonia or Montenegro as far as by Car botrh countries are 4 hour driving.
It will be easier for enri and me that in case of emergies like that we can ask them for quick supply of materials.
I have orderd the Ink at Vanson Holland since 12 June and I hope it will arrive on 22 June ( Monday) althgough I have paid a lot for airtransport.
Thanking you and all others member of the forum for the support to us
    Regards
    Marsel

    Hi Marsel,

i don't know any QM printer in Macedonia or Montenegro but i heard that one QM DI is installed in Macedonia. Maybe you can ask nearest Heidelberg office about it or try to ask Jan Rozek (QM DI service, Austria).

We have the same problem and it turned out to be the bearings on the third roller they were replaced the problem went. worn bearings heat up the shaft and the heat is transferred to the roller Hope this helps.
