Hi everyone, with anicolor press, the density can be adjust with the temperature of the anilox rollers, hot and cold to increase or decrease the density. I have an issue with my density on an anicolor press, my rollers temperature are at 10- 15% and i can't decrease them any further and still i can't print in iso standard on coated paper, the anilox are 10 cell rollers, can someone help me with these issues, thks

If You Out Of Temp Range Then You Either Speed Up To Drop Density Or Slow Down To Increase If You Want Permanently Change The Density Then You Can Change The Packing Under The Form Roller Blanket Not Sure Which Way To Go Thinner Packing/Thicker Packing?
Are You Using Recommended Products (Blankets Etc) As Some Thing As Simple As That Can Change Things?
I Suggest You Would Need The Help Of Demonstrator To Identify The Issue As It Could Also Be Pressures That Could Be Affecting Things Especially If You Remove The Anilox Rollers As That Can Upset The Pressures.

10 cell rollers are pretty much the standard roller coming with the anicolor machines now. You still can get an 8 or 9 i believe but this is not cheap. If you are maxed out on your temp setting your only other choice is using either a higher or lower tack ink. Im assuming your getting your ink from Heidelberg becuase if your not all bets are off. Heidelberg provides high, medium and low tack inks that are specific to Anicolor machines. My suggestion is make sure you use Heidelberg inks if your not already and see if the will ship you a different tack ink to help you control your density.

Thanks for your reply-both of you
We do use saphira S ink from heidelberg, i guess S is for standard, when we begin our print in the morning with a clean ink chamber, the densities are ok, we print at about 13000ph and our temp are about 30-50, the densities when check with a spectrodrive are ok, after at about 1 hour print, when check again, we begin to have a rise up in our density, we rise up the speed to decrease the temperature but at 10- 15 %, there's no adjustment possible

    Where are you located?
Is it hot or cold. Most likely you have temperature controlled environment.
    Keeping it around 75 - 80 degrees F.
I had to move away from heidelberg inks for that reason.
Got together with T&KToka Inks, (Best Image Anicolor Process.) Worked with Steve Palmer and got exactly what I NEEDED TO RUN THAT PRESS AT 15,000sph ALL THE TIME!

Now my temperature setting for anilox rolloers run at 75-85 ( standard desities are achieved with this formulation of inks). I know how you feel man, i struggled for 2 years with that until i convinced the owners to move away from Heidelberg inks. No one there could help me and could not eliminate the problems. They wanted me to solve the problem and the problem was Heidelberg inks. Took a awhile but once they got me what i wanted, the proof was in the pudding. LOL Heidelberg was out.
You should call Steve ask for the same ink that he is manufacturing for me ( Cristian Lira @ Simon Printing ) and you should be set man.

I dont agree with Komori guys very often but I think KomoriLS guy is right. Heidelberg uses temperature to control density on the Anicolor machines. Very important to have the machine in an controlled environment. Ambient air must be stable to control consistent densities throughout the day especially in areas where it gets hot. Im sure Heidelberg told you that when the machine was installed so my guess is that the machine is in a temperature and humidity controlled room.

Thanks again guys, we do have a control temperature press room at about 75F,we print in mauritius, where it's really hot, look like we have to give a try to the T&KToka inks, thanks again for your help, will keep in touch

    Ok
We use Saphira Fountain Solution 203 and we use alcohol.
Fountain Solution Concentrate is 20 oz per 5 gallons of water / so 4 oz per 1 gallon.
    Alcohol I run it at 7% .
Alcohol replacement was a no no, could not keep the plates clean for nothing and if we did get the plates to clean they stayed too wet while printing which caused emulsification. replaced the alcohol sub for isoprophil ( Alcohol) problem went away.
I hope this helps, sorry for the delay of response.
    You're welcome.

Could it be a possible prepress issue?

    Hi komoriLS640
It's been a while since my last post, I was wondering of if u could help me with another issues on my anicolor press, in production mode at about 1000 to 5000 printing sheets I have ink accumulation on my ink form roller, it's not a thin layer of ink anymore, it's an ink thickness in the form of liquid, my dampening rollers are well set and my ink chamber are well mount, my question is have u an idea what can make these
    Thanks

    Hey whats going on?

Do you do any analox roller maintenance?
Sounds like its carrying too much ink in rollers and the only reason for that is if its not going back into the chamber.
How often do you change the blades and what type of blades are you using?
    Have you changed inks lately?
Is the temperature the same as before?
Is the actual temperature on the anillox roller what it says it is?
    Is it cooling?
Are you running alcohol? Or sub? If this is too high either the sub or alcohol it will make the ink act funny.
Don't know what else to say with out being there.
