Go for SM72 but stay away from perfectors. In my opinion CD 74 would be best option.

SM 72 has a bit advantage over SM74 because of the larger Impression cylinder diameter. As your jobs are mostly on thick substrate you will get less markings on the sheet.
SM 74 is more automated in terms of technology, you can get Autoplate and other advanced features like better control console and suction belt feeder. Completely different roller system, both inking and dampening system has different type of settings.
As you already have an SM 72 in your pressroom, it will be easier for your operators to run and you can swap parts or electronic boards in case of any breakdown.

The 72 is double arround the cylinder - for 2 sheets , so the sheet will be less curved on the cylinder - better for heavy stock.

As far as I remember SM 72 has a impression cylinder diameter of 270mm and SM 74 has 220mm.

all things being equal I too would recommend the 72 over the 74. As mentioned the 72 has larger circumference cylinders, which makes for a smoother transport through the press. The other advantage of the 72 over the 74 is that I feel the 72 has a better inker. The inker on a 72 is the very same inker thats on a 102 just not as wide. The ink roller diameters are capable, and in fact do, supply enough flow to adequately ink a form thats 28 inches from gripper to tail. When you consider that a 72s maximum size from gripper to tail is 20 inches you can see lots of reserve in the inker. This reserve translates into better coverage when printing heavy forms, and ghost sensitive images.
