We just bought a QMDI Classic and are trying to figure out how to use it without any prior knowledge. When burning a new set of plates the color profile does not change. It is my understanding that it should change to the new plates automatically. We are printing an image that is only black text on the one hand side and the colors profile is the same as the last one. The rollers are to heavy with ink on this profile. We have to adjust it manually. If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate any information. Thank you! [IMG]

you have an option nammed counting dots, it can help you to re-read the ink profile of the actual plates.
in that same screen go to the 4th button on the top of the screen, the little square with the arrows, in that screen you will see something like a calculator.
it will re calculate the profile (it last like 3-6 mins depending on the imaging resolution used), when your screen finish (counting dots) in the same screen import configuration pressing the first button (if i can remember is the same button image as the one over the red button on your image).

this must bring the new ink profile to your acual job

    good luck

It´s funny that if I burn plate by normally mode then ink coverage is different than if I burn plates by manually advanced.
Strokes+keys are different, so I use manually DI´s calculator every time just to be sure to get same coverage as last time when job was printed.

Thank you so much. We did the counting dots and the color profile changed! Much better than changing it manually each time. Now we almost have our first job printed!

In the settings for the RIP there is an option to make an ink profile when ripping the file.
