Any body having problems cutting offset sock-i.e 50 60 70 lb
Our cutter is in excellent condition-knives are sharp.
But when we cut offset stock-we have to do it in smaller liftsor we will break the shear bolt.
No problems on coated or card stock.........

Does your cutter have one or two shear bolts? Way back our old cutter which has two did this, we kept replacing just one. As a result we'd bust the other, which would again weaken the good one. If your cutter has two replace em both. Double check after one cut to make sure its snug too. Only other thing I can think of is if your having trouble on the offset stock, because its so light, you are going into your "stick" too deep, putting a strain on it. But that doesn't make a lot of sense. In which case I'd have to agree with Spike.

Cutters are in perfect condition-very well maintained.
Problem is starting to head towards bulky paper and the additives they are putting in as a whitener i.e. Titanium Dioxide
Oddly enough another printer in the area having the same trouble

One last thought. Have you looked into changing the bevel of your knife.

First of all, what model is your paper cutter? As in offset presses, there a different qualities within paper cutter manufacturers. What about clamp pressure? Have you tested modifying it (increasing/decreasing)? Bevel is also critical, depending on the material you will cut, there's a recommended bevel configuration.
