Hi we have recently switched over to processless plates on our XL75 5 colour and coater and are having problems with scratches on plates and plates taking up to 100 sheets to wash out, is anyone else using processless and are you having similar problems

Did you contacted you plate supplier? Are these plates compatible with your fountain solution?

Engage the dampening system on your press instead of printing sheets until the plates wash out.

Also try and look closely at the plates, maybe the scratches are coming from the CtP device itself?

And as stated above, check with your prepress team to see if your fountain solution is compatible with the plates.

Just out of interest, what plates are you using?

I agree with Hitenb, we engage the waters a few seconds before engaging the feeder which cleans the plates before the impressions are engaged. My initial thought was that the scratches are coming from the imager. We have not experienced any scratches on the plates since we made the conversion.
