    Hello all,
I am an artist from Cincinnati, looking to purchase a 24" large format printer to make*reproductions*of my work. I mostly do black/grey, so im not really pressed on color brilliance, but it would be great if it was capable. Id like to stay in the $1000-$2000 range. $1700 would be the ideal top out. I have been researching and researching for months about different print makers, printer companys, software, and ways to keep my head from exploding. This is my first time exploring the forum world, and this seems to be a great place to start. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you can point me in a direction, I will be forever grateful.

    Love Always

    Hi,

The model I would recommend in 24" and price range would be Canon's iPF6400. The price online isn't the discounted price.

Our cost is $2049 with free freight and no sales tax outside of IL. It does great on B&W prints as well as color and is very cost effective during printing and cleanings.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions regarding our products.

Epson is the way to go. I had Epson and Canon next to each other - Canon was sent to print blueprints till it ran out of inks and then was scrapped with no regrets.

You scrapped the Canon because the inks were used quicker? Sounds like you're using an older Canon. The newer models don't run out of ink that quickly now and we have customers to prove that. Epson does have larger inks for the 24" models, but the cleanings, printing and nozzle checks use more ink than Canon's do.

But, it's more up to the user as we don't tell them to go with this brand only. We provide all the details from other customer experiences as well as our own. We use Epson and Canon printers daily and both are great, but Canon does have a bit more of an upper hand on more ends of printing.

Our Canon iPF6450 has been printing everything for us for 8 months straight with very little ink changes or issues. When we had the Epson 9890 7 months ago (used for less than a year before selling it at a trade show), it went thru ink changes every few months from printing and cleaning and a few print head issues. Again, that's from our personal experience. It can be different per user.
