Normaly it is trhe other way round , so i assume you have a setting problem on your press - get a Komori proffesional to check it out , could be rollers , damps , pressure , transfer cylindrs and more...
    Good luck

I always say the machine is only as good as the operator, did the same operator set up both machines? Was it the same image? The same stock?

When you say "increase press pressure", I'm assuming you mean the impression cylinder back pressure to blanket. If you mean blanket packing and blanket squeeze in general, then this post wont apply.

If you are sure that your impression cylinder to plate cylinder pressure is good, than increasing that pressure wont help any, in fact it can actually make it worse since will affect the blanket and reduces the blanket to plate pressure.

Check your blanket and packing very carefully on the Komori. I had a problem with this running a lithrone 28 some years ago when the solids didn't look solid. We were using a soft underblanket packing and after we switched to a hard packing with a thicker blanket, we got good solids immediately and have not had a problem with this ever since. This is only one of the few things that could cause it, but if it is the problem, you will see a difference right away.

First check your blanket and what is thickens under blanket this is main reason for bed solid print ,but also as i have been seen CD102 always gives better solid print than Komori

The legend plate on the last unit operators side will show the undercut of the blanket cylinder and the amount of overpack required. If your blanket and packings aren't correct then you'll be pi$$in in the wind. Get that part right and try printing a dry solid. Let us know how that goes?

By the way, that was a typo, If you are sure that your impression cylinder to blanket cylinder pressure is good...

That is very true...but I have seen many people that are good have to print on crap. I digress.
Just remember never print more than 60-65 percent of the papers total length. i run a 19x25 that will not print
a solid longer than 12"....so i throw them on my 40" and then I get a great solid up to 15''
Covers most all pocket folders thrown at me.....boss hates it but hell it works

    Solid, Screen, doesn't matter

Start with the roller stripes, if they're good, do the blanket packing next. Once pressures are correct, impression cylinder pressure is the only thing that varies in the print process and it should be set to paper thickness. Once all pressures are correct, Komori Presses print as good if not better than any press in the world. No limitations on size of image or quality, paint the sheet with solids, screens, whatever, it doesn't matter.

Purely on blankets and packings (assuming everything like rollers etc are correct, in my experience they very rarely are though) the best for solid printing is -
1.65mm 3 ply blanket, 1mm cork underblanket (difficult to source now), hard manila packed to a total of 2.85mm

    next best -

1.95mm 4 ply GOOD QUALITY blanket paced with hard manila to 2.85mm

    worst -

1.95mm any old blanket will do, 1mm rubber underblanket because we are too lazy to pack it properly. This gives a very unstable platform, is overpacked and destroys the top blanket by degrees.
