    Dear colleagues!

I have an issue with my press. I have a problem with streak on my blanket it's always on the same place around 27cm/10 inch from the front edge and I have gosting issue on my printed paper.First I have that problem only when I print an orange HKS 7 ,and now this is problem with any ink that I use PMS or CMYK.
I talk with my Heidelberg mechanic and his opinion is that this streak is not mechanically caused(I think otherwise). He says that it is maybe chemistry issue. But we didnt change our chemistry supplier for a long time.Meanwhile I changed the blanket und udercut and guess what, nothing changed. My roller settings have been done by Haidelberg mechanic two week's earlier.
And now I am asking you, my colleagues, does anyone know a solution for this problem ,any advice is more than welcome.

Here are some pictures how it looks.

Looks like it's picking up ink from the area outside the paper length and this is being transferred back to the plate, try cutting your blanket packing to just over trim size and see what happens?

have you tried moving the dead point of your inker? If not I'm sure its listed in your operators manual.

I get precuted packing. Which is cuted by the Heidelbergs spec. 377mm/536mm (14.84 in/20.94in) so I can't try that. But that spec is something that hasn't changed from the day we had that press.

I'm not sure what you trying to say? My operation manual is on German and I don't speak German. So would you be so kind to try to explain to me what should I do.

Check Blanket wash up cloths. Try to remove wash up unit. Once I had a similiar experience on SM74.

    Good luck

I don't have washing unit in my press I removed it because I wash my blanket by hand, it's much faster, and I had a little problems with printing ticker stock's because of the wash unit.

Make sure you are packing your blanket to bearer Height or slightly under. Also make sure you are not using excessive back cylinder pressure. It is possible that you might need bearer pressure reset.

Seen that so many times its starting to hurt to look at. My money is on the heidleberg tech that DID NOT check to make sure the pressures are set in the print position and one ink form is moving side to side (looks like third inker), so when the oscillateor stops and goes the other direction you get that big line of tinting. I can't think of how many presses i"ve seen this on, too many.

I agree with what FSA said. One of the form roller is moving side to side.

Thank you all for your's replays....so far I have only a positive result with change of movement of oscillating rollers....I have the problem when the oscillating rollers are in position of max movement 35mm, but when I put the oscillating rollers around 10-15mm that problem disappears....in my opinion the problem should not be there if the roller is set up good...so I called a mechanic and we will reset the rollers again...

I have one more questions....what is the use of white and red numbers? ....As I see it from the picture, if I put a set up on white 3 that should be enough for printing a A3 format...so I will be grateful if somebody can explain to me the meaning of that numbers or put a pdf on english of that section from the manual...

that there was no problem blanket ,you don't need to touch regulation which you describe. It is necessary to disconnect axial offset rollers Plates

    To Rusprint

Sorry but I don't understand what you trying to say what I need to do.

But with that regulation I disconnect the axial rolles ( is the oscillator rolles the same as axial.... are we talking about the same thing but with diferent name)...

I don't run a press that large but if it were on my press i would check that one of my form rollers aren't moving side to side. I think that is what Rusprint might be trying to explain.

Problem in that that I don't know English. especially the engineering..If rolling rollers work as on a photo you will have that a shadow on a blanket. It is necessary to disconnect axial offset of rollers 1, 2, 12, 11. And to make setup of 35 millimeters as on your photo and everything it will good.On your photo page operator manual. 35 mm

    tone

Your pictures indicate your problem is on the last unit of the press, the fourth one. You are running black in that unit? Not KCMY? Whatever, either way your issue looks like a toning problem. It goes outside the paper area and all the way across the cylinder so to me, that's what it looks like. If it is a toning problem, then it's either ink water balance, or just dampener issues. That can mean fountain solution or roller adjustment or roller end bearing trouble. That's a pretty severe tone line so my guess is its a dampening system issue. Try running integrated and then segregated and see if there's a difference. It may help you troubleshoot the problem.

the numbers are a way to indicate the position i mentioned before of the "DEAD POINT" the dead point is a timing reference to where the oscillators begin their reversal of direction. Not sure how, but changing this position will have an effect on the charge distribution of ink from the gripper of the form to the tail of the form. My suggestion in an earlier response to change your dead point was in an effort to move that toning line you see on the blanket to the "GAP". Ive seen this correct your very issue but it is to be done after trying to lock down the form rollers in their cups allowing no side to side motion. Particularly on the last form roller!!! Be aware that if you move the dead point you will not be decreasing the amount of oscillation on the metal rollers but the timing of when they oscillate. The amount of oscillation is also referenced by the numbers you see under the cover.
To see if changing the dead point will solve your problem i would suggest a significant move. ( try about 90 degrees) If you see the toning line on the blanket move to another area then its just a matter of moving until its not visible on the sheet and in the gap!!!
