check roller end play ? may be excessive and either shim them or adjust if you can.
also I would check the ductor roller, it may be hitting too hard?

    Hello RRD
You may want to stripe your form rollers to the plate,it sounds like one of your new form rollers is bouncing in the plate cyl. gap.
You can engage the water & ink forms to the plate ,if you can put your finger on the adjustment bolt of the form rollers you will feel and see the bounce if it is a roller bounce.

    Good Luck

Is the RRD for RR DONNELLEY ?

i know the ductor is hitting hard. our ductors all need redone. cant hardly adjust at all. we just went to a new roller supplier, a company decision. we started with botcher then went to diamond now rotadyne. (sp). i liked botcher the best. the rotadyne seem to be football shaped already when we check them to the plate.

    Hi rrd
To check you ductor roller problem switch off the ductor if you still have the strip you don't have ductor problem
No more strip you have ductor problem
If you still have the strip adjust ink form roller 1&4 to the roller 6mm and to the plate 2 mm
    try one by one
Still you have the strip adjust your dampening form roller differently
Still there check your underlay sheet on the blanket
As you say you have that problem only on unit 1 !! and you change there the rollers
if you change the roller only on unit 1 try to change the roller from other unit if the problem change to the other unit you can easily say to your boss or supplier the rollers have problems
    Good luck

If the mark is in the exact same spot it's not a roller bouncing. Are you sure it's not water from the plate gap?

Put your finger on the adjustment bolt ........ you obviously don't work on Heidelberg machinery as they are well guarded to prevent that from happening and to stop people from loosing parts of their body. If you are going to give advise to people , make sure it is sensible first.

I stand corrected,it has been several years since I ran a Heidelberg cd 102 6/color press.

I must apologize to RRD for giving any unsafe advice it was not my intention to do so .

I do however currently run a 6/color man Roland and it is not unsafe to do what I mentioned.

RRD I should have asked you to use a flashlight to look at the roller adjustment screws through the guards

and if you saw a adjustment screw rocking to shut down the press and to back off on the adjustment screw.

Again I am truly sorry for any unsafe advice and will be more careful in the future.
