Hi guys...need some basic info here..
1.When some people here mention running their presses inter z roller disintegrated, what do they mean? is it completely pulling out the z roller from the machine or the z roller still is in contact with the plate form roller?
    2. Is it possible to run this disintegrated method on my GTO?
    3. What are the pros and cons of running disintegrated?

    Thx

The Z roller, also known as a bridge, is mainly for when you have light coverage and/or no take off bars. When the roller is disengaged it basically acts as a distributor between the 1st form and another distributor. When engaged it touches the water form and distributor thereby pulling the ink off the water form and putting it back into your ink train. I'm not too positive on your particular press (GTO) but what I'm saying I'm sure is the same basic principle. Typically we run with it off unless we have problems. If we are printing gap to gap with no room for a take-off bar and it's light coverage we may turn it on. I personally prefer it off, and use it as a distributor.

dont know how to run non integrated on a gto but on early speedmasters there was a manual adjustment you made at the printing unit. On the later model speedmasters (cptronic and later) you set it up on either the cptronic console or in the case of cp2000 you do it on the touchscreen.
I prefer to run fully integrated on all but the lightest coverage jobs, and when running metallics as ive found that you throw away less sheets on the startup.
