I have been offered a Watkiss Vario 16 station friction feed machine with the bookletmaker and wondered if anyone had any comments about this machine regarding reliability, ease of use, range of stocks it will feed (particularly coated stock)?

Have not had any experience of Watkiss collators so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Friction feed machines are typically NOT considered good performers with coated stocks.....Watkiss Varios are no exception to this....

The only thing I would say to this, is that the Vario has air blast separation, which makes it more competent than other friction feed collators.
However, for coated stocks we would still suggest you opt for a suction fed machine.
